(The Act)

Director: Hector Faver

Other Actors: Juanjo Puigcorbe, Magui Mira, Patxi Bisquert

From "Tan Solo un Actor":
Joaquin and Andrew are two close friends that attempt from youth a search into sensitivity. With the passage of the years, both stray from their original search, putting together a normal life, permitting the small deterioration of their relationship. This is the argument of the movie "El Acto", by Faver. Its originality doesn't reside in its argument, but in the treatment of the cinemagraphic language, that part of the assembly and the actors' behavior.

Antonio charged only a nominal fee for his participation in the first work of Hector Faver, who remembers that "Banderas didn't want to just make a movie, but rather to become the character that was requested by the director. "In spite of this not being a very traditional movie, released only in art theaters and industrial rehearsal halls, Banderas was decidedly as involved in the production as the other actors, that included Juanjo Puigcorbe, Magui Mira, Patxi Bisquert, Lidia Bosch, Emma Suarez and Ovidi Montllor.

In order to carry out his small collaboration in "El acto" ["The Act"], Antonio took advantage of his free day in the theater and was released to Barcelona. Then, he performed in Maria Guerrero "5 Lorcas 5", directed by Lluis Pasqual, that recreated five stories of Federico Garcia Lorca. Antonio played opposite Nacho Martinez in one of them, titled "El dialogo del amargo" ["The dialogues of the bitter."]
