After shooting Baton Rouge where Carmen and Antonio played lovers,
they filmed an episode of the television series The Woman of Your
Life, also playing lovers. But the plot is quite different. Antonio
portrays a young man who witnesses a murder but, stupidly, picks
up the murder weapon. A shopkeeper sees him standing over the body,
knife in hand an assumes he is the killer. He runs home to his apartment.
The married woman downstairs is quite attracted to her neighbor
and while sharing a meal the next day she sees his picture on the
front page of the newspaper. He explains the situation and she agrees
to protect him -- for a price -- and they become lovers.
The woman is a writer
and she secretly writes a novel about her life with the young fugitive
which quickly becomes a best-seller. The novel is made into a film
and Antonio sneaks into the theater at the premiere. This part of
the telvision show was filmed during the premiere of Women on the
Verge of a Nervous Breakdown. Says Carmen: "I arrived by plan,
in a chauffered limousine, very exaggerated, knowing that I was
being filmed by three cameras and having to perform my part before
people that didn't know anything at all of the matter."
The author becomes
very wealthy and buys a large country house where she moves
with her husband and her young lover, who remains hidden in
an attic apartment when the husband is around. But the young
man starts to become a pest due to his boredom, and despite
the fact that their sex life remains strong, the author takes
a second husband after the first dies of a heart attack, continuing
her relationship with ther hidden lover.
