What would you do if you lost your husband, wife, significant other to a fatal disease…only to find that there was a portion of their life that you were totally unaware of?

Struggling to deal with the deal of his wife, Lisa (Linney), Peter (Neeson) finds himself forced to face that reality as a letter arrives for her signed simply “Rolf”. The letter broadly hints at an intimate relationship with his deceased wife and he finds that he cannot put it aside. Answering the letter, he corresponds with Rolf (Banderas) posing as his wife. Little by little he gathers bits and pieces of the relationship the two shared and decides to track down the mysterious Rolf to uncover the truth of the relationship for himself.

The script for The Other Man was co-written by Richard Eyre (Director) and Charles Wood and is based on a short story by Bernhard Schlink. The short story can be found in a collection of Schlink’s stories called “Flights of Love”.
