Antonio meets Madonna.
The singer, with a two-year crush on the Spanish actor, arranges
to meet him in Madrid during her Truth or Dare tour.
Antonio arrives at a dinner arranged by Almodovar -- with his wife
Ana Leza -- and Madonna is devastated. But she is not disappointed
in Antonio: "Is that man beautiful or what? My God, there must
be something wrong with him because nobody could be that perfect!"
They departed after dinner with a kiss in front of the press and
movie cameras, with Madonna begging Antonio to call her.
Many people credit
this movie with opening the door to North America for Antonio. But,
hundreds of thousands of people who had already enjoyed his subtitled
Spanish films knew better than that.

Antonio had
no idea that he was to be part of a movie when he showed up
at Pedro's dinner party. He didn't realize that he was to
be Madonna's dessert, either. Having had a fair amount to
drink that evening, Antonio later requested to see the film
to check what he had said. He gave Madonna permission to use
the footage after he and Ana had quite a laugh over it.
