History
of the Antonio Banderas Web Mall
The
Antonio Banderas Web Mall began in 1995 [one of the first Internet
web sites] when Kathleen created an homage to Antonio with a sense
of humor. She called it the Antonio Banderas Mini Mart and stocked
it with aisles of Antonio "merchandise". One of the notable
features of the Mini Mart was its Comment Board, an interactive
bulletin board that allowed Antonio's fans to communicate with each
other.
A community of fans began to congregate at the site. Two of these,
Tamara and Sandie, saw the thirst that Antonio's fans had for news
and information about him and began The Antonio Admirers Newsletter.
It began slowly with a few subscribers and at the height of its’
success boasted a subscription base of over 1800 with Sandie as
the editor. (the Newsletter has been suspended).
Early on, Susan began contributing material for the newsletter and,
in the process, collected a vast amount of information on both Antonio
and his movies. Early in 1997, Susan compiled this information and
turned it into a website called “Antonio Banderas: The Man
and his Movies”. This site complemented the Mini Mart so well
that Kathleen, Susan and Sandie began to discuss the possibility
of joining forces to provide Antonio's fans with the ultimate fan
resource. From these conversations the Antonio Banderas Web Mall
was born.
Over the next few years the Web Mall attracted more and more fans
and grew substantially, thanks to contributions from fans all over
the world. Soon, the Web Mall became too large for only Kathleen,
Sandie and Susan to handle, so in 1999 the partnership was expanded
to include regular contributors Carol, Lisa, Sha, and Debel. At
the same time, we also bid a sad goodbye to Kathleen, the site founder,
whose job as a website designer demanded all of her time. Summer
2000 found the Web Mall in yet another transition as we bid farewell
to Susan and Debel.
Spring 2003 saw yet another evolution at the Web mall as Sha left
and KC and Chris [aka Frodita]joined the partnership. And in 2005,
after Lisa’s departure, Pepe and Di came on board to complete
a strong partnership team with a variety of skills.
No matter whose name appears in the Partners area above, for the
past 10 years, the women who have brought our audience the Antonio
Banderas Web Mall have worked to make it one of the best celebrity
sites on the Internet. The current team thanks them all! Please
visit us often, as even more great changes are planned for the near
future.

There are lots of other
wonderful sites out there dedicated to Antonio. We’re proud
to say that some of these sites were created by contributors and
visitors to the Mall. They are ALL worth at least a peek, and we
encourage you to do so. And be sure to check the Comment Board and
Ramble Room for posts from the creators of some of these sites.
They often post new updates there so all Antonio fans everywhere
can enjoy! If you come across any other sites, would like to have
your site added, or learn that any of those listed here have moved
or been abandoned, please let KC know about it at kc@banderas-mall.com.
These sites are in no way connected
to the Mall other than the fact that they are devoted to Antonio.
They are simply linked here for your further enjoyment of all things
Antonio. We reserve the right to remove any link from this page
or decline to add a new one we hear about if its’ contents
appear to malign Antonio or present him in a way we believe he would
find embarrassing or demeaning.
WARNING: A number
of these sites contain explicit stories of a sexual nature and are
intended for mature audiences over the age of 18 only. You will
find warnings on the individual sites.
